Robin leads the team at RockSpark Communications + Marketing, a full-service agency specializing in a wide range of communications disciplines, including public relations, media relations, internal communications, and digital and social media management. She currently serves on the Universal Accreditation Board, which oversees the APR credential — the gold standard for PR professionals. She also serves on the board of the Public Relations Society of America's Orange County Chapter and is a sought-after speaker at conferences and events.
Robin is a dynamic, nationally recognized PR and communications leader. She previously led the Communications and Marketing team at the City of San Marcos, including the City's social media and graphic design staff. She has extensive experience managing onsite and remote teams, PR agencies and vendors. She strives to help each team member's true talents shine through coaching, development and collaboration.
In the past 12 months, Robin has earned more than 100 positive media mentions for government agencies, products and businesses. She enjoys building positive relationships with journalists and the communities she serves. Robin frequently works with reporters on stories for numerous news outlets, including ABC 10 News, CBS 8, NBC 7, KUSI, the Los Angeles Times, the Orange County Register, the San Diego Union-Tribune and more. In addition, Robin was named Star Performer of the Year at South Coast Water District for her work to leverage modern public relations strategies to achieve organizational goals.
Robin cut her teeth in the human resources department of a Fortune 500 technology company, where she first learned the value of effective internal communications. Recognizing that employees are an organization's most valuable stakeholders, Robin excels in employee communications, engagement, and planning internal meetings and events.
Robin's new book 100 Things to Do Before You Die is now available wherever books are sold. Her work has appeared in Sunset, Westways, TravelAge West, Cat Fancy magazine and more. She has interviewed everyone from San Diego zoo animal trainers to actor Robert De Niro.
Robin served as a staff editor at AAA - the Auto Club of Southern California where she managed the digital content strategy for the websites and social media channels of five AAA lifestyle, travel and automotive magazines, including flagship Westways (4 million circulation). She also served as editor of San Marcos 360 magazine.
Robin managed digital communications, including the website, Intranet and social media strategy for the City of San Marcos, California. She also runs the popular Go Southern California social brand. At AAA - the Auto Club of Southern California, she managed the digital content strategy, including web and social, for five magazine brands, including flagship Westways magazine.
Robin excels at creating speeches and presentations for executive level management and elected officials.
